I concur...I used the same style because I wanted to master that style, just as I want jiggles to do...if you look at my photobucket from the past there is mostly a pattern bad sig

that is because I would do smudge sigs, then brush sigs, then displace sigs, then c4d, then stock...I would do a style til I made a good sig with it and got the hang of it. So now I have a disposal of styles I can do on command if needed...not saying they are all fantastic, some are better than others, but I'm just saying if needed to I can come out with an OK sig.
And usually when I sit down and make a good sig nowadays, I try to incorporate all of them. Like the one below, it is a combination of displacement, c4d's, stocks, brushing, smudging, and gradients.
Granted there are many more styles that I haven't come across yet, or have not tried yet, but usually you try to stay in your comfort zone when you try to make a great sig. But trying new things and new ways of doing things is always a good way to get better.
