| Some sites are funny with it but the size you should use would be 100x100 or 150x150 pixles of course

| The standard here is 150x150 px. (no larger than 500kbs as well).

| some places are different. for example, youtube keeps it at a very strange 88x88 limit. usually when i make avatars though i start at around 150x150 to 200x200 so its easier to work with and you can always resize the final.
