I don't like this. It seems that you resized the render into random proportions which isn't good. I don't like the shadowing you gave to the weapon... it seems kinda... on top of the gun. The background is alright. The important thing is you tried. This is much better than your optimus blend-wise

I agree.

I don't really like the background, but it could just be me.

The text doesn't really blend with the signature.
What I like to do with my texture is to make it white, then go to Layer-->Transparency-->Alpha to selection(be sure your text layer is selected, and your FG color is black), change settings to 1, then change the text layer to overlay and duplicate that layer until it looks nice.
